Do you know your ABCs? A - Admit that you are a sinner. B - Believe that Jesus is God's son and that He died on the cross for your sins. C - Confess your Faith in Jesus as your Savior and Lord!

Friendship is a hot commodity nowadays.  Networking communities are flourishing.  But what is a friend?  Not only that, but do any of your “friends” meet the requirements of true friendship?  Most importantly, do you?

The Bible tells us, “A friend loves at all times,” (Proverbs 17:17.)  This means that friends do you no harm.  Friends do not “backstab” or talk behind your back.  Friends do not find humor or joy during bad circumstances.  It also means that friends are honest with you…even when you don’t want to hear what they have to say.  They have a sincere interest in your welfare.

So, when you think about it, how many “friends” do you actually have…and to how many people are you an honest, true friend?

I would guess the number is a bit lower than you expected.  Fortunately, there’s nothing wrong with that!  Quite the opposite, in fact.  What is the benefit of having a million “pseudo-friends” when you only need one good shoulder to cry on?

My point?  There’s nothing wrong with having a busload of acquaintances…as long as you keep in mind that true friends are few and far between.  Don’t be a fickle friend…and expect the same love, honesty, and loyalty from those around you!
