Do you know your ABCs? A - Admit that you are a sinner. B - Believe that Jesus is God's son and that He died on the cross for your sins. C - Confess your Faith in Jesus as your Savior and Lord!

Do you ever wonder why, just when things seem to be going well, you come upon a snag…or even run into a wall?  When facing difficult situations, it is hard to see the hand of God at work.  But guess what?  He’s there…pruning shears in hand!

What does that mean, you ask?  Jesus tell us that He is “the true vine, and [that] God is the vinedresser…” When we are saved, we become “branches” of the “vine” that is our Savior…Jesus.

“Every branch that bears fruit, [God] prunes it, that it may bear more fruit.” Jesus goes on to say, “He who abides in me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:1-6.)

So when you feel the “pinch” of the Holy Spirit speaking to your heart, take time to ask yourself:  Am I bearing fruit for my Savior, or could this situation in which I find myself simply be God’s way of taking me in hand…cutting away the dead weight…to make me more productive for His kingdom?

We already have the assurance that our foundation, our vine…Jesus…is healthy and secure.  Now it is up to us to do the work of a spiritually-healthy branch:  Accept the task of reaching the lost for Christ and get busy with the task at hand!

Seek His will…and let your life forever be fashioned by faith!
